Guide to oil management
1. PURPOSE:
This guide will be a general way to manage the use of oil in the company to maximize the effect and minimize the danger from using it in producing activities: soil pollution, water pollution, fire…
2. SCOPE:
This guide applies to all sectors that use oil in both manufacturing in the company and transporting from suppliers.
3. CONTENT AND RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1. Park the transport trucks at regulated places. When pumping oil into tank, check the valve, tap, lock system and place stray under leaking points (if have).
3.2. Lock all the valves of the truck and clean after fully pumping. Don’t let oil overflow when parking or transporting in the factory.
3.3. The oil tank after being fully pumped must be locked all the valves too. Clean carefully the pumping places and don’t let oil spreading over the floor or in the sewage system.
3.4. For the transport using tanks, barrels from one place to other by any means, they should be checked carefully and transported vertically. Don’t make any leak or broken.
3.5. When operate machines, check carefully all the valves, lock and don’t let oil spill. If you discover any oil leaking, quickly use sawdust, sand or tray to prevent them from spreading around the floor. Then, use bleaching material to clean the floor but assure that the effluent runs into oil processing place, avoid letting them run into sewage system.
3.6. During working process, check the oil tank, machine, tube, valve, lock… frequently. If there is any symptom of oil leaking or not accordance to technical standard, repair it. In case of problem beyond your ability, report to the higher senior for solving.
3.7. When pouring or pumping oil by hand from barrel, employees must also use trays to prevent oil from dropping on the floor.
3.8. When cleaning oil from machines or places, clear the space around the oil spot before cleaning. The used water must be gathered into the oil processing system.
3.9. Storage or places containing oil must have an edge around and include equipments to deal with oil spill or fire. The oil storage must be away from electricity or heat source.
3.10. When discharging residual oil, discharge them into barrels or trays and keep at specific places for dealing later.
3.11. If oil is spilled, use sand, scrap cloth, sawdust or others to immediately deal with the problem.
