Guide to waste management.
1. PURPOSE:
To set rules for managing, classifying, collecting, transporting, storing and disposing the waste in the working process of the company in order to prevent and minimize the impact on environment and human health.
2. SCOPE:
This guide applies to the management, collection, classification, transportation, storage and disposal of waste from the company in an efficient way.

3. GUIDE CONTENT:
3.1. Waste management at sector level:
• The divisional heads are responsible for instructing their employees about how to classify solid wastes, measure the amount and keep them at specific places
• Distribute into different storage areas and label to identify specific types of waste for each area.
• Solid wastes are contained in clean bag and transported to the gathering place.
• Solid wastes are measured in kilogram or in other units as mentioned in the report on solid waste.
• The total amount of solid waste is written down exactly in the “waste notebook” provided by the Environment Project Division (EPD) right before transporting to the gathering places.
• Check the daily record and send monthly report to the EPD.
3.2. Classification of waste:
• Wastes are classified from the working process of the company into 3 types:
1. Recyclable wastes
2. Unrecyclable wastes.
3. Dangerous wastes.
These types of waste are specifically classified as follows:
• Recyclable wastes such as scrap cloth, plastic bag, nylon, paper; they will be kept in nylon bag and taken to the gathering place (storage room).
• Unrecyclable wastes such as household garbage; they will be kept plastic or iron boxes and placed in the storage.
• Dangerous wastes such as chemical container, washcloth having chemical, oil, residual oil, printing ink, broken bulb, bags having oil…. ; They must be transported to the storage room for disposal later.
3.3. The maintenance of waste:
• When maintain wastes in the company, never let undangerous ones mix with dangerous ones.
• Have fire protection equipment ready at the maintenance place if necessary.
• As for dangerous ones, they must be kept at places with shed and labelled separately.
• The division in charge of dangerous waste management must make an annual report on waste management and send to the General Director.
• The employees related to dangerous waste management must be trained and instructed with suitable skills.
• Have specific containers for each type of waste.
• Ensure that the place for wastes is dry and far from electricity and heat sources.
• This place must be separated from liquid wastes.
• Have fire extinguisher ready every time.
4. RESPONSIBILITY:
The structure and responsibility of divisions of waste management are clarified as follows:
• The divisional heads are responsible to the recyclable wastes of the company.
• The administrative department head is responsible for dealing with the trading and disposal of unrecyclable wastes of the company.
• The deputy Director (or the representative of ISO 14000 board) is responsible for disposing dangerous wastes.
• The heads of related divisions are responsible for compiling necessary guide document related to the collection, transportation and storage of waste. Request the suppliers to provide all relevant licenses to work. Explain to the concerning parties and provide them with documents if being requested. Request the suppliers to provide specific handling guide for dangerous wastes.
• The board of director is responsible for signing contracts of chemicals trading and disposing with contractors.
