6.1 PROVISION OF RESOURCES

6.1.1 Does the organization determine and provide the resources needed

a) to implement and maintain the quality management system and continually improve its effectiveness?
b) To enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements?

6.2 HUMAN RESOURCES

6.2.1 GENERAL

6.2.2 Are the personnel performing work affecting product quality competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills and experience?

6.2.2 COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAINING

6.2.3 Does the organization
a) determine the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting product quality?
b) Provide training or take other actions to satisfy these needs?
c) Evaluate the effectiveness of the actions taken?
d) Ensure that its personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives?
e) Maintain appropriate records of education, training, skills and experience?

6.2.2.1 PRODUCT DESIGN SKILLS

6.2.4 Does the organization ensure that personnel with product design responsibility are qualified to achieve design requirements and are skilled in applicable tools and techniques?

6.2.5 Has the organization identified applicable tools and techniques needed for product design?

6.2.2.2 TRAINING

6.2.6 Has the organization established and maintained documented procedures for identifying training needs and achieving competence of all personnel performing activities affecting product quality.

6.2.7 Are the personnel performing specific assigned tasks qualified on the basis of education, training, skills and/or experience, as required?
6.2.8 Has the organization given attention to training that satisfies customer specific requirements?

6.2.2.3 TRAINING ON THE JOB

6.2.9 Does the organization provide on the job training for personnel in any new or modified job affecting product quality including contract or agency personnel?

6.2.10 Are the personnel affecting quality, informed about the consequences to the customer of nonconformity to quality requirements?

6.2.2.4 EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION AND EMPOWERMENT

6.2.11 Does the organization have a process for motivation of employees to achieve quality objectives, to make continual improvements and create an environment to promote innovation?

6.2.12 Does the organizations employee motivation process include promotion of quality and technological awareness through the whole organization?

6.2.13 Does the organization have a process for measurement to ensure that its personnel are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives?

6.3 INFRASTRUCTURE

6.3.1 Does the organization determine, provide and maintain the infrastructure needed to achieve conformity to product requirements?

6.3.1 PLANT, FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT PLANNING

6.3.2 Does the organization use a multidisciplinary approach for developing plant, facility and equipment plans?

6.3.3 Is the organizations plant layouts optimized for material travel, handling and value-added use of floor space and shall facilitate synchronous material flow?

6.3.4 Has the organization developed and implemented methods to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of existing operations?

6.3.2 CONTINGENCY PLANS

6.3.5 Has the organization prepared contingency plans to satisfy the customer requirements in the event of an emergency, such as utility interruptions, labor shortages, key equipment failure and field returns?

6.4 WORK ENVIRONMENT

6.4.1 Does the organization determine and manage the work environment needed to achieve conformity to product requirements?

6.4.1 PERSONNEL SAFETY

6.4.2 Does the organization’s quality policy and practices address the product safety and means to minimize potential risks to employees, especially in design and development process and in the manufacturing process activities?

6.4.2 CLEANLINESS OF PREMISES

6.4.3 Does the organization maintain its premises in a state of order cleanliness and repair consistent with the product?
