Procedure for maintaining machine and equipment
Procedure for maintaining machine and equipment
1. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this procedure is to set plan to examine and maintain the machine and equipment in the manufacturing process. Maintenance is to reduce the risk that may harm the machines and influence the producing performance and the environment.
2. SCOPE:
This procedure applies to all operations of sectors that use machine and may influence the Quality Management system in the company.
ISO 9001:2008
3. DEFINITION:
3.1. Machine and equipment maintenance: This work is done periodically in order to ensure that the machine operates correctly.
3.2. The terms used in this procedure are suitable with ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO: 14001:1996
3.3. Abbreviation:
4. CONTENT:
4.1. Demand for maintaining the machines:
Due to its important role in the producing process, the machines always need maintaining in order to minimize and prevent the risk with machines and equipment that may influence the producing progress.
4.2. Make the list:
The maintenance team cooperates with divisional head to make a list of the specific machine and equipment that are being used in order to supervise its working and prepare replacement or repair timely then presents to the manager of technical department for approval.
4.3. Make the investigating Plan:
Depend on which equipment and machines are being used and their specific function and performance, the maintenance team will set up an investigating plan base on which decide the necessary machines and equipment for operating and regulate the time for periodical or frequent maintenance due to the daily operation time.
4.4. Carry out the investigation:
Depend on the plan, the maintenance team will investigate the machines and note down the following:
• Operated time
• Time of previous maintenance
• Previous Status of spoilage
• Current status of the machine
• Need repairing, replacing or maintaining?
4.5. Make maintenance program:
• After investigating and examining, the maintenance team checks the operated time or each machine and sets specific maintenance time for each one.
• After identifying the function, performance and operated time, the maintenance team will make a plan to maintain or repair the machines by the designer’s direction.
4.7. Material provision
After making the maintenance or repairing plan, the team checks the causes to the damage and makes a material provision of necessary parts needed in repairing. Meanwhile, this will be supervised and examined by the head of department which needs the machines and equipments.
4.8. Execute:
After having the material provision, the maintenance team begins repairing the machine according to the plan and program made before. After finishing, the team will work with the divisional head and make the report on checking and taking over and evaluating the performance of the maintained machine, in which they describe specifically about its status.
4.9. Update the record:
When the machine is maintained, the maintenance team makes a record for each one on which parts are replaced? How long it has been operated? And make for it a specific file for record.
